Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a term coined by Jeff Bezos
in the context of Artificial Intelligence. Certain tasks related to processing,
such as identifying whether the person shown is female or male by looking at a
picture, are still done by humans faster than computers. AI is not yet
sufficient for programming such programs.
Work At McDonald
Jeff began his work by working at McDonalds. While working
there, Jeff cleaned the ketchup that had fallen on the floor. Once a
five-gallon ketchup container burst during work, Jeff explains that it was the
first week of his work. Therefore, being new, it was cleaned from them. Jeff
was disappointed to see such behavior with him. However, Jeff had no other way
than to work here.
Change the world of shopping
In the 90s, there was a discovery that still has an impact
on the world. Jeff Bezos, a Wall Street jobber, was watching the Internet
revolution very closely. Seeing the fast growing Internet in America, Jeff
decides to leave his job and open an Internet company. Jeff's mind then comes
up with an idea of online rites. Jeff
lists 20 products that can be sold online. He starts a website to sell books
online, seeing the low price of books and the never ending demand.
Bumped off
The company saw its future within the first two weeks. In
just two weeks, the company started earning 20 thousand dollars every week.
Jeff continued to add revenue to the company's growth. Within two months,
Amazon started its business in 50 US states. Amazon's revenue plan was
different. The company did not think of 4-5 years of profit. The company's
stockholders were upset by this. At the turn of the 21st century, when the
dotcom ball broke, most of it online companies were badly affected by him, but
Amazon grew stronger after that. The company first profit in 2001.
Precious thoughts
- This life is just too short to spend time with people that aren’t responsful *
- A person who can easily solve difficult problems.
- A brand for a company is like its credibility for a person. You gain credibility by trying to do difficult things.
- One of the ways to get out of a tight box is to find your way.
- At Amazon, we had three big ideas that we have been sticking with for the past 18 years, and they are the reason for our success: Put the customer first. Invent And be patient.
- We do not want to do things just because we can do them… We do not want to do anything in vain.
- There are two types of companies, those who work for charging more, and those who work for less charging. We will be the other one.
- If we have done better than our peers in the internet space in the last 6 years, it is our laser focus on customer experience, and it really matters, I believe, in any business. It definitely matters in online business, where the word of mouth is very powerful.
